Farmville – Crops are Critical to Your Success
Creating a successful Farmville farm requires learning which crops will work for your playing habits, and using the highest experience producing crops when you have time.
When you start out playing Farmville and want to advance quickly you must learn about which crops will give you the best success. You earn experience points and coins for planting and harvesting crops, but not all crops are created equal.
Berries, although they take the highest amount of time commitment, are the most profitable. For example, strawberries are usually one of your starting crops. Strawberries grow very quickly in Farmville, reaching maturity and ready for harvesting in 4 hours. To speed up your startup efforts, covert virtually all your farm to strawberries. On a caution note, you’re going to be real busy. Your need to harvest every four hours, or more often if you don’t plant all of your strawberries at approximately the same time. Strawberries also wilt, and will require replanting on a regular basis. That isn’t always a bad thing, since you will get additional points for planting your crops.
Since you will need to sleep sometime, you have to have a strategy for when you need to be away from the farm to sleep or work. Pumpkins can be a good choice during these times. You have more time between harvesting and wilting, thus allowing you time for a good night’s sleep. It will also help to keep your boss off your back for logging into Farmville.
As you progress further in the game, you will have the opportunity to start planting blueberries. Blueberries are a good crop when you don’t have time to harvest for more than 8 hours or overnight. Replacing your pumpkin crops with blueberries will give you more experience points.
Raspberries are for the dedicated farmers. Raspberries give you your highest return but they take a lot of playing time. You will need to sign in every 2 hours with raspberries to keep your farm running efficiently. If you are serious about moving up levels quickly, plant raspberries.
For those times when you need to be away for the PC for longer periods of times, rice is an excellent crop. Rice will let you be away for more than 11 hours, giving you time to go to work or get a night’s sleep.
Other crops that you must try are tomatoes, carrots, coffee and grapes. The crops all allow you more time than raspberries and strawberries while giving you reasonable returns in experience points. Depending on your level, grapes can give you up to 16 hours away from the computer.
Just like a real farm, you must plan your farm strategy, and use your resources wisely for the fastest methods to reach new levels. Don’t let your crops die on the vine while you’re away, when you can plant crops which continue producing through the night. The success of your Farmville enterprise is at stake. Once you know the proper techniques, your friends will stare in amazement as your farm flourishes and grows beyond their wildest dreams.
