Healthy experts have blasted low-priced UGG Sundance II boots as regrettable and alert they are harming the feet of a era of adolescent women. Foremost podiatrists and chiropadists consider the direction is storing up a large increase in the number of people enduring toe deformities, backache and pains in their feet, knees and hips. DrIan Drysdale, head of the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, claimed: “Because these boots are warm and delicate, young girls think they are giving their feet a break. Actually, they are actually breaking their feet. Their feet are sliding around inside. With each step, the force falls towards the inside of the foot and the feet splay. This flattens the arch and makes it drop. The result might be essential troubles with the foot, the ankle, and, ultimately, the hip.”

Designer UGG Ultra Tall worn by celebrities including Kate Moss and Cameron Diaz sparked a craze for the flat, furry generic boots. But not everyone can afford the far better-made top brand Ugg Australia boots. Consultant podiatric surgeon Mike O’Neill has called the trend for cheap Uggs “disastrous”.
He said: “As the foot slides around, you get wear and tear on the joints on the inside of the foot. The ankle is in the wrong position, the thigh bone also changes position, and you get an abnormal movement in the pelvis, which leads to back problems.”

Professionals claim it can take as little as six months of continual use to lead to wear and tear damage that can be difficult to repair. Dr Drysdale is also nervous that unsupported low-cost UGG Knightsbridge boots are on sale to children whose feet are still forming. He warned: “The damage and discomfort for kids is going to be heartbreaking.” He has also identified an Ugg “shuffle” in wearers a lopsided, pigeon-toed way of walking which is also storing up problems. But he said Uggs are fine to wear at home, but not for walking long distances. Ugg Australia said their boots are “comfort” not “performance footwear” and buyers should beware “knock-offs” which lack the reinforced heels or insoles of their boots.
